RHIZONIFY 6-4-4 2 X 2.5 CASE

Grigg Rhizonify 6-4-4 is a liquid fertilizer that contains three sources of nitrogen, phosphorus, potassium, amino acid complexed micronutrients and a wetting agent. It provides superior soil penetration – even on hard-to-wet, hydrophobic soils. This improves soil moisture uniformity and targeted nutrient placement. Recommended for golf and sports turf, particularly on areas suffering from localized dry spot.

The rhizosphere refers to space at the root-soil interface where plant roots and soil microorganisms interact. Rhizonify is a new product from Grigg Brothers designed to facilitate the interaction of turfgrass roots with water, nutrients, and sugars in the rhizosphere to improve rooting, enhance plant energy status, and promote turfgrass vigor in challenging soil conditions or during environmental stress.

Nonstructural carbohydrates, or simple and complex sugars, generated by photosynthesis provide an energy source for turfgrass plants. For metabolically active plants, carbohydrates are consumed for immediate energy needs, or stored in crown and root tissue for future use such as during dormancy or environmental stress. In general, nitrogen (N) fertilization lowers carbohydrate status in plants due to increased demand for energy to assimilate N. Viable root maintenance and generation rely on energy in the form of carbohydrate for vital metabolic processes such as respiration and protein synthesis. 

In soils, plant roots produce (exude) carbohydrate, which in turn is used by microbes as an important energy source. A thriving microbial community relies on these sugars to improve soil structure, decompose thatch, and generate plant available nutrients. Exudates also form the foundation for the ‘organic fraction’ of a soil – a process especially important for sand based or highly amended root-zones. The organic fraction can improve nutrient exchange and moisture retention

Under conditions such as low mowing heights, shade, limited nutrient availability, salt stress, compaction, biotic pests, and/or hydrophobic soil, photosynthetic productivity declines and subsequent energy production and storage slows. As metabolic activity declines, so do root exudates. Applications of Rhizonify  will enhance and replenish plant and soil carbohydrates at the rhizosphere to successfully overcome these limitations, or when adverse soil conditions warrant its use as part of a general maintenance strategy.
